Fisher Ambulance Service has been operated by Peguis First Nation since 1985, providing emergency medical care to Peguis, Fisher River Cree Nation, Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation and the surrounding communities of the RM of Fisher.
In 2021, Peguis Chief and Council approved a modernization of the service, adding ambulances, equipment and paramedics, and bringing Advanced Care Paramedics to the region for the first time. Today Fisher Ambulance remains one of the few proudly First Nations owned and operated ambulance services in Manitoba, staffed by paramedics who live in and serve their own communities.
